Graphic Design and Communication in English

Online course 15 weeks 

This course is for students who are interested in a career as a graphic designer or art director and wish to take a first step into a creative world. Graphic Design and Communication is for students who want to get a qualified introduction to the topic and are interested in a career as a graphic designer. You are also willing to work hard during the 15 weeks to gain new experiences and develop new skills.

The course covers theory, but the emphasis is on practical assignments that challenge creativity and sense of form. We work with graphic design, typography, shape, color and layout and the creative process. You get a good insight into how a professional graphic designer works. 

After completing this course you should be able to deal with basic concepts and means of expression and to work with both the traditional and new tools for graphic communications.

Course content 
This course provides a general orientation and basic practical knowledge and skills in:
  • Graphic communication
  • Typography
  • Color and shape
  • Identity programs and trademarks
  • Design for advertising
  • Image - composition, photography, illustration
  • Traditional and modern media

The course starts and ends with workshops at the school.

Certificate 
After completing the course the student will receive a course certificate. 
Students must complete all required assignments to pass. 

Admission requirements and application 
You have an upper secondary qualification or equivalent, basic knowledge of and access to any computer programs, InDesign, Photoshop and Illustrator (or equivalent) and a program where you can create PDF, EPS or JPEG files. 

Your application holds a short description of yourself where you motivate why you're applying to this particular course, as well as a breakdown of your previous education and work experience.

Course fee excluding VAT: 20,500 Swedish crowns

Course fee including VAT: 25,625 Swedish crowns 

Beyond the course fee, there is an additional cost of about 1,300 Swedish crowns for literature
