PR concerns the whole scope of skills that aim at promoting a person, product, corporation or idea throughout the public sphere. It also includes management function, which is there to evaluate stakeholder attitudes, changes in policies and procedures in response to stakeholder requests. This person should also execute a program of action and information to earn public understanding and acceptance.

 

Strategic Communication & Public Relations is a one-year diploma education directed at those people who want to work in information and public relations or who have just started working in a PR or information department of a company. The course of study is equally directed at those who are or seeking work in both private and public sectors.

The education provides a comprehensive education in the areas of information and public relations allowing students to pursue a professional career as a public relation or information consultant at an agency or company.

 

Diploma Education Contents

The education is organized into a diverse number of courses within the fields of communication such as: communication theory, business strategy, communication planning, and presentations technique. Professional writing, mass-media relations, internal information, project management, research methodologies, and integrated communication are also studied.

 

Course Structure

The education is one year of full-time study. The pedagogical form of the course is a mixture of lectures, seminars, workshops and group projects. A large-scale examination project runs parallel with the courses in the final term.

The education places an emphasis on working over traditional disciplines and students work directly with students from other programs.

 

Admission Requirements

 

Applicants must have a completed high-school/college education with good grades in Swedish and English. Applicants should have at least one year’s relevant professional experience in the communication industry or business. Students must also complete a number of entry assignments in their application.
