This course covers the fundamentals of agile, focusing on the Scrum framework, its values, and what tools to use. You will work hands-on with how to run an agile project according to Scrum.

The course provides you with an agile mindset and Scrum as a practical framework to manage projects. Over eight weeks, you get to apply knowledge to a project and develop skills and confidence. You can bring your own project to the course or we will give you a fun one to practice on.

Course Content

 

Week 1- Intro to Agile Methodology

Dive into the history of Agile, its 12 principles, and learn what the differences are between the various methodologies.

Week 2- The Scrum Framework

What is Scrum? Understand the framework and its values and how to run a project with Scrum.

Week 3- Project start

Bring your projects to the table or have one of ours to work on. Project setup.

Week 4-Project scope week

Getting started with Scrum. Define the project scope, dive into the projects, and hands-on work.

Week 5 and 6 – Running a project with Scrum

Scrum in action. We will focus on your projects and apply Scrum practicing on things big and small.

Week 7 – Project presentations and feedback

Feedback on project outcome and process.

Week 8 – Course Summary and key learnings

We look back at agile principles and the Scrum framework in relation to the project. Course retrospective, key learnings, and open discussion about future paths.

 

The course runs on Canvas – Berghs’ platform for online teaching and learning. You will also use common free software, such as Slack and Trello, to manage your project. Articles and assets will be handed out during the course. You will also receive guidance and resources enabling you to later go on to certify as Scrum Master, if you wish to do so.

Course Director

Anna Malmberg is a senior project manager with 20 years of experience in digital projects and extensive experience of both agile and classic waterfall. She has numerous international and local prizes for product launches and marketing campaigns. Today Anna works at Volvo CE and she is part of a team responsible for the company’s online presence, strategy, and performance. Anna is cosmopolitan, she loves baking pies and snowboarding.

Who is the course for

You have 1 to 3 years (minimum) of professional experience in communication, software, product/service design, web, games, and similar. You are interested in leading complex collaborative projects and therefore have a specific interest in learning agile.
