This course starts with a holistic view of UX, covering the design process and an often overlooked part - user research and design strategy. Then the course shifts to the technical side of Interaction Design and how to build winning products that delight users in any digital medium.

Course Content

We will begin by learning the principles UX design and how to develop your own projects applying user research methods, ethnographies,  personas, system maps, and customer journey maps to help you derive valuable insights for design. We also will cover techniques for ideation and prototyping, as well as how to lead teams and organizations to be more design-centric. “Before you build it right, make sure you’re building the right thing.”

Next, we will focus on Interaction Design and learn how to create user-friendly products that people love to use. You will learn how to: improve the usability of your product, use prototyping and wireframing, build workflows that work, optimize information architecture and communication design, create responsive designs and much more. You will gain a set of skills that can be applied to any kind of digital project, from web design to apps.

The course challenges you with a series of practical assignments and is aimed at designers who want to take the first step towards UX, Interaction, and Service Design. It is structured in chapters, as follows:

Week 1 .UX and experience design principles

Week 2. User research & strategy

Week 3. Ideation, wireframing and prototyping

Week 4. Usability testing and iteration

Week 5. UX design to drive innovation and change in organizations

Week 6. Design principles for digital

Week 7. Principles of interaction design

Week 8. Information hierarchy and architecture that helps the user

Week 9. Designing successful home pages

Week 10. Building engaging and intuitive content and e-commerce pages

Week 11. Responsive design, mobile applications, digital services and add-ons

Week 12. Putting it all together: agile, lean and successful delivery of digital products

Who is this course for

You have 1 to 3 years of experience as a Graphic Designer and you are good at Photoshop, Illustrator, or similar applications. You do not mind sketching, some assignments are better solved with paper and pen. You need no previous web design experience to attend this course.
