At Edith Cowan University (ECU) in Perth you can combine studies in Media and Communication with courses in Marketing and Business. After completing the a foundation term at Berghs in Stockholm, you continue your studies in Australia, where the remaining five semesters take place at ECU’s new City Campus in the heart of Perth.
Edith Cowan University (ECU) is the largest university in Western Australia, with more than 30,000 students. In February 2026, ECU opened its brand-new City Campus in the heart of Perth. The campus plays a key role in reshaping the city centre, creating a dynamic link between the CBD and Perth’s arts and cultural scene in one of Australia’s fastest-evolving capitals.
The new ECU City Campus will soon host more than 8,100 students. Both Bachelor degrees offered through the Berghs Bachelor Program are delivered at this state-of-the-art campus.
Your studies from the Berghs Bachelor Foundation semester in Stockholm are awarded 4 units by Edith Cowan University, shortening the study-time of the following Bachelor Degrees from 3 years to 2.5 years. Choose from one of the following courses:
- F35 Bachelor of Communication
ECU's Bachelor of Communication (F35) prepares you for a career within the communication business. The Program consists of 24 units, 12 of which are to be spent within your Major of choice: Advertising, Film and Video, Broadcasting, PR, Journalism, Media and Cultural Studies, Screen Studies.
Your curriculum includes also a good number of elective courses that can be chosen from disciplines other than your major of choice. Advertising students can also decide to spend all their elective courses at the School of Business and add a Second Major in Marketing to their degree. - Y99 Bachelor of Marketing, Advertising and Public Relations
ECU's Bachelor of Marketing, Advertising and Public Relations (Y99) aims at students who are interested in a Business Degree with a strong focus on marketing communication. This program offers three areas of study condensed in one degree. The degree is issued by ECU’s School of Business.
Note that ECU offers you full flexibility and the opportunity to combine courses from different majors within Arts and Humanities, and across the School of Arts and Humanities and the School of Business. As an example, you can study for Bachelor of Media and Communication with Major in PR and take some courses in Graphic Design, or Animation.
There are many possible combinations of subjects and you are offered the possibility to design a very individual study plan.
After completing your foundation semester at Berghs, you continue your studies at Edith Cowan University for the remaining 2.5 years of your Bachelor's Degree. You can choose to commence your studies at ECU either in February or July.

The course fee is approximately 75,000 AUD in total. Eligible for CSN student funding. Visa costs, insurance, living costs, accommodation, course literature, and other study materials are not included.

Accommodation
ECU does offer student accommodation on it's other campuses. However, if you'd prefer to live off-campus and closer to the ECU City Campus, you should explore Perth rental properties at the REIWA or Domain websites. Alternatively, you can live in a private home with a Western Australian family through the Australian Homestay Network.
Visa
Students who are not Australian nationals are required to apply and pay for a Student Visa. As part of the visa application, the och OSHC (Oversea Student Health Cover) must also be paid to access healthcare in Australia.
A $5,000 bursary available to new international students commencing an undergraduate or master's by coursework program at ECU City Campus in Semester One or Two, 2026.
