Are you equipped to lead AI adoption?

We have noticed a constant demand for AI capabilities, and we've identified a growing need for new AI roles in companies and organisations.

From our course participants, most of whom are communication professionals and executives, we hear about organisations that struggle to adapt to AI, find ROI, and understand the EU AI Act.

We see how the need for a new AI Adoption Lead position has emerged to meet growing demands. This role needs a clear place in organizational charts, and we designed a learning package to equip participants with the capabilities they need to succeed.

Why AI adoption stalls

AI adoption is the act of integrating AI technologies (machine learning, automation) into everyday business practices, workflows, decision-making, and existing systems.

AI adoption often slows because rules and regulations collide with existing structures, and uncertainty around AI services remains. Trust issues exist around how large language models work, especially regarding facts and hallucinations. There is also a demand for guardrails and safety procedures. In addition, employees often lack a clear understanding of what AI can actually do and how to use it wisely. It is partly a context problem: how much does the organisation, and its operators, know about how and why people do things? Then comes the data question: where is all the data? Is it safe, accessible and useful? Is the information in compliance with GDPR, and is the AI policy aligned with the EU AI Act?

So far, adoption leaders have started AI champion initiatives, led internal hackathons, and produced courses for employees and C-suite executives. We have seen them as lecturers in our courses, speakers at our Unconference:AI events, and on the advisory boards for our full-time AI programs at Berghs SOC. They share stories of successful transformations in which managers learned to experiment, allowing themselves to test, fail, and constantly adapt their strategy. AI adoption leaders belong to a growing community of self-learners, brave leaders, and pioneers worldwide, facing the same challenges.

The three-step learning model

In dialogue with our AI teachers and practitioners, and compounding our hands-on experiences from implementing our AI Lead full time program curriculum, we reverse-engineered what AI adoption requires and then designed a learning journey for the new role of AI Adoption Lead.

It has three distinct phases:

  1. AI empowerment - Learning how to use AI tools to strengthen personal performance, building on your existing strengths.
  2. Systems analysis - mapping how AI systems and organizations work.
  3. How to lead others - change management, communication and leadership

The three phases build on each other naturally. In phase one, the participant learns how AI can augment their skills and add new ones. The fortified participant then maps systems and flows using their new capabilities, and finally takes on the most difficult task: bringing others along.

If you are ready for the challenge of leading AI transformation, we now offer a 15-week online program starting soon: AI Adoption Lead.
