Expanding a Creative Career with Influencer Marketing

We caught up with Nova Löf Karlsson, a content creator and assistant for an established fitness influencer as well as social media and PR strategist for a Swedish start up. Here she shares her experience of Berghs’ 4-week Influencer Marketing course — and what she valued most about the content and instructor.
Hi nOVA! who are you and what do you do?
Right now, I’m part of a Swedish startup in the dietary supplement industry. I work in the marketing department, developing the company’s presence on social media and creating various PR strategies. At the same time, I also work as a content creator and assistant for an established fitness influencer who has their own clothing brand. It’s a role where I get to combine structure with creativity, and no two days are the same — which I absolutely love.
You recently took our Influencer Marketing course. What made you choose this course?
When I saw the course on Berghs’ website, I immediately knew it was for me. I’ve always been interested in influencer marketing, and I especially wanted to broaden my knowledge in the field — which I really did.
What did you take away from the course?
So much! Every class was a new opportunity to learn something, and you really did. After completing the course, I had gained a much clearer understanding of how to measure and evaluate the impact of campaigns. One of the key takeaways for me was learning how to identify and work with relevant KPIs, such as engagement rate, reach, conversions, and ROI. It was such a fun learning experience.
What was it like having Ruby Jankkila as your instructor?
Ruby was absolutely fantastic. In my case, it had been a long time since I’d had a teacher who was not only great at teaching but also understood each individual in a unique way. It created an incredibly safe and supportive learning environment.
What did you find the most fun or valuable during the course?
The most fun and educational part was working on real-life cases. It made it both exciting and enjoyable to figure out creative ways to approach the assignments.
Have you been able to apply what you learned?
I’ve used what I learned in so many ways. It feels amazing to now have more knowledge to contribute to my work and future projects.
What does a typical workday look like for you?
Every day is different. It can range from reading a brief for a collaboration to filming content. Sometimes I spend the entire day working on media strategies. It’s very mixed — but fantastic to always have something new on the schedule.
What’s the best part of your job?
Definitely the creative side of it.
And the challenges?
That’s a tough one. I’d say juggling several projects at once, especially when none of them are the same. But I also love having a lot going on — I wouldn't want it any other way.
Where do you find inspiration?
I always try to stay up to date with what’s going on around me. I mainly gather inspiration from social media (especially TikTok and Instagram) and Pinterest.
Do you have a career tip you’d like to share?
Never be afraid to be yourself. You're going to be at your job every day — you should never feel like you have to be someone else when you walk into work. And don’t be afraid to ask questions. It’s better to get things right than to regret not asking.
What would you say to someone considering taking this course?
Do it! It’s amazing. If you want to deepen your knowledge of influencer marketing, this course is wonderful — and so much fun.
