  • Many 85-year-olds have changed the world. We are one of them who intend to keep doing so.

Everything that drives progress begins with an idea. With people who dare to think differently, challenge convention, and create enough friction for something new to emerge. Innovative companies, strong brands, and new perspectives are not born from comfort, but from creativity, courage, and curiosity.

Throughout the year, we will continue to champion creative thinking. At a time when everything is becoming more automated, the human perspective matters more than ever. And courage requires friction. That’s why we’re inviting you to Friction Festival — a place for ideas that provoke, people who challenge, and conversations that move us forward.

Come and create friction with us! Get your ticket to the Berghs festival at frictionfestival.se.
  • This year, Berghs celebrates 85 years.

Founded in 1941 by industry professionals Irma & Gösta Bergh, what started then still drives us now: curiosity, creativity, and a close connection to the world around us.

Berghs is no ordinary school. Despite 85 years of education, we don’t have traditional teachers. Instead, all teaching is conducted by active industry professionals, sharing insights that are current, relevant and preparing the next generation of creatives for a communication landscape that is constantly evolving.

Busy since 1941… and still leading the way.
  • Meet @hastibergman. She attended @annawhitlocksgymnasium before starting at Berghs. She is now continuing her Bachelors degree at
@ravensbourneuk in London, pursuing the @dad_rave course. Below she shares her thoughts on the Berghs Bachelor foundation semester in Stockholm:

◼ If you think back to your first day, how did you feel walking into Berghs for the first time?
I was so nervous but also so incredibly excited. I had to call my best friend on the walk to school to decompress and calm my nerves. But then it honestly felt like a relief stepping into the building, leaving my nervous baggage out on the street. Everyone was so chatty, cool and kind. I instantly felt welcomed.

◼ What’s been the most valuable thing you’ve learned so far at Berghs?
How fun and powerful collaboration can be. You meet and work with so many different people with various experiences, skills and talent. You get taught to stay more open, adapt and combine creative perspectives to deliver and reach stronger ideas.

◼ How has your creative process changed since joining the program?
I’ve learned to structure my process better, every step feels more intentional and purposeful. I’ve also become more confident when presenting my ideas and work. I trust my creative instincts more wholeheartedly and I’ve started to work in ways I hadn’t thought of before, using insights and feedback to deliver strong concepts.

◼ How would you describe the Berghs experience in three words?
Cool, lush, experimental/creative

◼ What’s something you wish you’d known before starting at Berghs?
That you don’t have to feel like you have to know everything beforehand. We all are here to learn, and we learn so much from each other.

  • What does studying Fashion Communication & Image at Istituto Marangoni in Paris (@istitutomarangoni_paris) involve? Berghs Bachelor student Minou (@minou_donaire) gives us a sneak peek.

As part of their first semester, students complete an editorial portrait project which explores the relationship between personal identity and visual styling. Working in pairs, students create styling concepts based on a deep dive into a classmate’s personality—translating character into colour, texture, light, and form.

Minou developed her concept and vision centered on the contrast between her classmate’s edgy, dark outer aesthetic and her warm, blooming personality. Each styling choice was made to visually articulate this tension, resulting in a portrait that is both aesthetically coherent and deeply personal.
