Meet the Interns Shaping Sweden’s AI Scene

When Mathilde from Norway and Gio from Mexico joined Berghs’ Content Engineering program, they weren’t just moving to a new country, they were moving into the future of creativity amplified by AI. With backgrounds in design and art direction, and a fearless curiosity for what’s next, these two pioneers are showing what happens when creative talent meets cutting-edge tech.

You came to Stockholm from two very different cities — what led you to Berghs and the Content Engineering program?

We both come from creative backgrounds, Gio in Art Direction and Mathilde , the other in Graphic Design, and even though we're from different parts of the world, we found common ground in wanting to merge creativity with AI. After finishing our bachelor’s degrees, we were curious to explore new ways of thinking and creating. The Content Engineering program at Berghs offered a unique opportunity to do just that.
Our decision was also driven by the realization that AI is no longer something in the distant future, it’s already here. Instead of resisting it, we felt a strong pull to understand it and work with it. It’s like the old saying goes: Keep your friends close, and your enemies closer. For us, embracing AI was about transforming something intimidating into something empowering.

How did it feel stepping into Uncut, one of Sweden’s most prominent AI studios — did you have an “is this real?” moment?

As international studentss, we were stepping outside our comfort zones. Uncut blends traditional creative production with cutting-edge AI processes, so there was a lot to take in. At first, it was overwhelming, a whole new way of working, new tools, and a new culture.
But once we got to know the team and environment, we felt very welcomed. What stood out was that even though AI is rapidly evolving, we’re all still learning. It’s exciting to be in a space where curiosity is valued and growth is ongoing, no matter your role or experience level.

Was there a project or challenge during the internship that made you feel especially proud or empowered?

It wasn’t just one project, it was the feeling of being truly involved in the work. From the start, we were encouraged to use our voice. That level of trust helped us grow.
It’s like learning a new language. At first, everything feels foreign, but one day you realize you're understanding things that used to feel out of reach. That steady progress, that sense of "I can do this", is what empowered us most.

Coming from international backgrounds, how did that shape your approach to tech, creativity, or collaboration during the internship?

Our backgrounds gave us a fresh, optimistic outlook. Being new to Sweden, we came in with open minds and a hunger to new experiences. We listened closely, asked questions, and drew from past experiences with our own creative projects.
We’re aware of how special this opportunity is, it took effort to get here, and we don’t take any of it for granted. That mindset shaped the way we collaborated: with intention, curiosity, and a deep appreciation for every learning moment.

What do you think is the superpower of someone who studies content engineering today — and how did you use yours at Uncut?

One of the most powerful skills we’ve gained isn’t just technical, it’s the ability to shift our mindset. To stay curious, to test, to explore new tools without needing to master them all.
There are endless AI tools out there, and no one can be an expert in everything. But if you stay curious and keep exploring, you develop an instinct for what to use and when. That’s how you start working smarter and faster.
This mindset is something we saw reflected at Uncut, it’s not about always producing perfect results, but about finding the smartest and most creative ways to work. That spirit of exploration really inspired us.

What’s next for you — and how has this experience shaped your vision for the future?

This past year has shown us what a unique opportunity we have. Content Engineering is still a new field, and being among the first to study it puts us in a position to help shape its future. We’re getting hands-on experience, expert guidance, and a deep understanding of industry workflows, that gives us a strong foundation compared to those just beginning to explore AI.

Moving forward, we want to keep growing in this space, whether that’s by joining companies at the forefront of AI innovation, or creating our own path. This experience has made us feel like pioneers, and that’s something we want to carry with us into whatever comes next.
